Al Forsan International Kart Circuit — Outdoor Motorsport LED, Abu Dhabi

The impact

The circuit needed perimeter signage and an overhead timing gantry that could handle Abu Dhabi sun, desert weather, and structural clearance above moving karts simultaneously, so StarLED specified P6 to P8 XAO Series cabinets at 7,000-plus nits with gold wire LEDs, IP65 sealing, and a load-tested gantry structure engineered to motorsport safety standards. The gantry now delivers live race splits, flag states, and sponsor content in real time, elevating the venue to a tier that attracts higher-calibre events

FAQ · Automotive and Motorsport

Automotive and Motorsport LED, answered.

Four questions we hear from automotive and motorsport brands across the Abu Dhabi — outdoor brightness, indoor refresh rate, corner-wraps, posters, and what an install actually costs.

Trackside and gantry screens face direct midday sun and must be readable at speed, which means 7,000 nits is the working minimum for UAE motorsport applications. StarLED's XAO Series exceeds 7,000 nits with gold-wire LEDs that hold colour accuracy and contrast on the brightest summer race days, ensuring drivers read flag states and sponsors read clearly from any position on the circuit.

Every gantry is engineered to verified static and dynamic load ratings, including wind uplift and vibration transfer from passing vehicles. Structural calculations are completed for the specific span and clearance above the maximum vehicle height at that circuit. Every bolt is torque-tested, the structure is signed off to trackside safety standards, and no cabinet is commissioned until the engineering sign-off is complete.

Yes.StarLED's Novastar-based control system accepts feeds from standard motorsport timing platforms, allowing lap splits, flag states, and race position data to display on the gantry in real time. Between sessions, the same screen rotates sponsor content and event branding automatically without any manual switching by venue staff.

Perimeter boards sit in full weather exposure at trackside, so IP65 on the front face and IP54 on the rear is the correct specification. Cabinets are sealed against dust, rain, and humidity, and the mounting brackets are shock-dampened to absorb vibration from vehicles passing at race speed, which protects the electronics and extends cabinet life across multiple seasons of heavy use.
